 At the 2010 upfront on Thursday (May 20), The CW leaked some juicy details about “Gossip Girl‘s” Season 4 premiere.
When we last saw Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick), he had just been shot by a mugger, and his life hung in the balance as Blair (Leighton Meester) jetted off to Paris with Serena (Blake Lively).
Spoiler alert! Fans can rest easy. “Chuck can’t die,” Connor Paolo (Eric van der Woodsen) told Zap2it when we checked in with him at the upfronts. “You can’t kill Chuck Bass.”
The CW confirms that Chuck will be back to ruin Blair and Serena’s Parisian fun when he “mysteriously arrives in town with a new girlfriend and a new identity.” Could Chuck be experiencing some trauma-induced amnesia? The CW suggests that he’s now a “changed man” and might just have a chance at winning Blair back after all.
The mugger who shot him, however, might want to watch his back. “I’m sure we’ll go hunting the mugger tirelessly,” Paolo says. We’re sure Blair Waldorf will stop at nothing!
As for Eric, Paolo hopes that Season 4 will show us a new side of Serena’s little bro. “Eric’s the only kid left in high school. I think it’s time to watch him handle stuff on his own, considering how many hang-ups he’s had in the past about being alone. Now that Jenny’s gone and his father’s gone again, I think we’ll see him tough it out by himself.”
We know that Taylor Momsen will be absent when “Gossip Girl” returns in the fall, but Paolo is sure that when she gets back, she’ll still have Eric as a friend. “Absence makes the heart grow fonder,” he says. “As does trauma.”

Honestly I am really excited to hopefully see Eric at the forefront. I love his character and the lines they give his character. He always seems to come in at the right moment and has the right thing to say…although I was a little upset he snitched on Chuck and Jenny it was probably for the best
As for Chuck and Blair I keep my fingers crossed that they can make it out of those one okay and hopefully together. I hope it’s not amnesia and that almost dieing just gave him a new outlook on life.

I think it will be sooo exciting to see the season four! it has happened a lot in season three, and I want to see what the directors can come up with in a whole new season!
I seriously hope that chuck and blair find each other again! to be honest I was really devastating when chuck got shot! I really thought that he and blair would get back together again! He was gonna propose!! (OMG!)
